The video entitled Coreography for Bolcsó was inspired by Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville’s phonoautograph’s method of operation, based on the idea of one-way sound recording. I paired the stretched canvas (functioning as a membrane) with an easily movable material, then pointed a loudspeaker at the surface. The canvas, resonating with the sounds of the music, moves the materials placed on it, thus practically visualizing itself. Each new sound rearranges and transforms the shapes previously outlined, creating a unique choreography.
